Daily Programme:

  • Safari takes you to Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron

Day 1: Arusha – Meserani Snake Park – Tarangire National Park – Savanna Bush Camp

Safari briefing in our office or your hotel in Arusha at 0730 hrs. Your driver guide will then collect you from your hotel you will then proceed to Sable Square Mall where you will do your last minute shopping for your necessary items, your safari starts to Meserani Snake Park and Maasai Museum (if you wish to).

Here you will get to see some of the snakes that are to be found in East Africa but not to be seen on your safari You will then get an Introduction lecture on Maasai Tradition at the Maasai Museum on how  Maasai life style is with their culture.

From Meserani Snake Park and Maasai Museum  you will them Proceed to Tarangire National Park.

A park that is  famous  for its large herds of Elephants. Tarangire National Park has a nick name of the Garden of Elephants. You will explore the park till late afternoon, then come out of the park and proceed to Savanna Bush Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lilac Campsite and Tented Camp – Lake Manyara National Park – Savanna Bush Camp

After early breakfast with picnic lunch boxes on this day of safari  you will depart  from Lilac Campsite and Tented Camp with picnic Lunch boxes. You will then  proceed to Lake Manyara National Park , you will spend the  whole  day exploring the National Park for its predators and prey  till late afternoon

The Park is famous for its Tree Climbing Lions.

Later in the late afternoon come out of the park and proceed to Lilac Campsite and Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

In the evening you will have a performance by local traditional dancers. You will also have an option to do Night game drives in Lake Manyara after dinner in Lake Manyara National Park on this day.

Days 3-4: Savanna Bush Camp – Lake Eyasi

We will take you to a rarely visited, isolated landscape. After a dusty drive you will enjoy a beautiful view to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Eyasi. Dinner and overnight at Kisima Ngeda Luxury Tented Camp

This camp offers all the romance and the comforts of a traditional luxury tented camp. The tents are set in a stunning position on the shore of a soda lake, at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. Views across the lake, especially those from the huge granite boulder behind the camp at sunset, are superb. Though this area is isolated and little visited it is situated conveniently close to the route between some of Northern Tanzania’s most popular National Parks. It offers an exclusive destination plus awesome scenery and a chance to visit the Hadazaa, one of the last click-speaking hunter gatherer tribes.

A beautiful tented camp on the shore of Lake Eyasi offering luxurious accommodation under canvas The attractions of this fascinating area include meeting with the Hadazaa hunter gather tribe, swimming, walking, and bird watching; FB (two nights minimum recommended).

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After breakfast  on this  day  you will have a small excursion. You will visit a small fruit Kiosk where  you will test some exotic fruits  that are grown in  this fertile village the is situated at the base of Africa’s Great Rift Valley.

You will taste fruits of the season:  Red Banana Papaya , Sour Sap , Custards Apple and other fruits of the season then drive to Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch boxes . After lunch you will experience the great variety and density of animals in the second largest Caldera on earth. The most beautiful game drives you may experience in the late afternoon: Most of the people have left the crater floor, the light gets soft and the activity of the wild animal’s increases. You will take more pictures of this fantastic African landscape, flora and fauna than you have ever expected.

Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge / Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Day 6: Empakai Crater

Very few people have experienced this extraordinary excursion, which is on the itinerary of today. Passing the slopes of the Olmoti Crater you will be fascinated by the scenery of Embulbul Depression, Loolmalassin- and Empakai Crater. On a really difficult track we will “ride” you to the rim of Empakai Crater (2700m). The Caldera is edged by 600m high, steep, jungle walls and its floor is covered with a green glimmering lake – the seasonal home of millions of flamingos. With some luck, you may see them. This excursion offers the possibility, that you will meet Maasai in their untouched environment, not invaded by tourists. An armed ranger will accompany you which open the chance to descend to the crater floor (tough path!). Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Important: Unforeseeable events like heavy rain leave the track to Empakai impassable. In these cases you will enjoy a day of rest or (if you like) make an excursion to Olmoti Crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park

After early breakfast on this day of safari you will depart from your lodge in Ngorongoro Crater and proceed to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch boxes. Passing Ngorongoro crater rim you descend through a really impressive landscape down to Oldupai Gorge. Here you will find the most complete and eldest proofs of human development.

You will stop for the information about the cradle of mankind! Then continue to the heart of Serengeti. Arriving in Serengeti National Park for dinner and overnight.

On this day you will meet your crew who would have set up the camp in a very special place in the Serengeti National Park  (Special) Campsite Serengeti.

    Drive on dusty, nearly never used trails to the north – an excursion into a lost wilderness. You will find a fig tree in untouched Maasai land, north of Oldupai and close to the Gol Mountains. Even if you are not so interested in trees, this tree might tell you about the last 1000 years. We found this tree about 24 years ago and used to talk for hours with him. We are proud to show our lonely friend and you will not forget this “cathedral of a tree”!

    Important: The track to the Fig tree is extremely dusty and impassable if it is raining.

    Days 8-9: Serengeti National Park

    You will have plenty of time to explore the Serengeti, one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world with an incredible Wildlife. Your game drives will be adapted to the animals’ position. This season is also called “cat’s time”, because all big cats are going hunting more as the big herds are standing in the North, in Maasai Mara.

    As all our safaris have no limit of mileage and time, you have the best chances to become witness of a hunting scene. (Special) Campsite Serengeti FB.

    SPECIAL REQUEST BY CLIENTS

    On your request we can also offer you a balloon safari in Serengeti (facultative): in the early morning you will start to this unforgettable adventure. After a breath-taking flight of about one hour in dawn and a champagne breakfast you will return at about 09.30hrs to Visitor Centre and meet up with your driver guide
    this excursion will not disturb you daily activities in the Serengeti National Park

    Day 10: Central Serengeti – Lobo (Serengeti North)

    Today you will drive to Lobo area, the “rolling land” in the northern Serengeti. Landscape there is totally different to all what you have seen yet. If you will possibly do a short walk around, please be aware of baboons, buffaloes and hyenas. Game drives with picnic lunch to the lobo springs, to Bologonja, Klein’s Camp and along the Gagoti (maybe you will find leopards there).

    11 -14: Serengeti Lobo – Mara River

    These 3 days are spent close to Mara River. You will have  a good chance to see the  River Crossing in this area.

    You will have unlimited game drives  in this area. Returning to your camp for dinner and overnight.

    Day 15: Serengeti Mara – Lake Natron

    A stony track leads you to Loliondo and Sonjo. On black soil and through a wild and cliffy landscape you will reach the Seven Corners offering you an amazing view over Lake Natron surrounded by Shompole (Kenya) in the North, opposite Gelai and next to Oldonyo Lengai – the Maasai holy mountain. A tough track leads to your tented Lodge at River Ngarasero.  Lake Natron Tented Camp.

    Basic Camp

    Day 16: Lake Natron

    After breakfast on this day of safari you will carefully walk to a gorge. After 30 minutes you will reach a place which you would never have expected in this dry and desert-like area: waterfalls, natural Jacuzzi and palms!

    You will feel like in paradise!

    Later return to the  camp  After lunch  you will visit foot prints that were found recently  that date 12000 year old. Then  you will visit the Lake Natron shore  to see the Flamingos. Lake Natron is one of the lakes in East Africa where the Flamingos nest. Returning to Camp for dinner and overnight.

    Climbing Mt Oldonyo Lengai

    Examples of an additional day which can be integrated here in this itinerary:

    At 2:00 a.m. you will start your climb to the peak of Oldonyo Lengai – still an active volcano! Please strictly comply with instructions of your guide! The chance of seeing eruptions or effluents of cold lava (black and about 500°C) is really big.You will have a fantastic and unique view from the peak!

    You can see the Kitumbeine, Kerimasi and Empakai Crater and by luck Mt. Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro too. Like a Fata Morgana Lake Natron lies beneath your feet. Dinner and overnight Lake Natron Tented Camp.

    Day 17: Lake Natron – Savanna Bush Camp

    On this day you will visit the salt harvesting pans on Lake Natron, then after lunch you will proceed to the Village of Mto Wa Mbu ,on the way you will visit the Meteorite crater that the Maasai call it Shimo la MunguYou will arrive at Savanna Bush Camp  for dinner and overnight.

    Day 18: Savanna Bush Camp – Arusha

    After breakfast on this day you will proceed to Arusha
    Then continue with your onward safari
