Day 4: Empakai Crater
Very few people have experienced this extraordinary excursion, which is on the itinerary of today. Passing the slopes of the Olmoti Crater you will be fascinated by the scenery of Embulbul Depression, Loolmalassin- and Empakai Crater. On a really difficult track we will “ride” you to the rim of Empakai Crater (2700m). The Caldera is edged by 600m high, steep, jungle walls and its floor is covered with a green glimmering lake – the seasonal home of millions of flamingos. With some luck, you may see them. This excursion offers the possibility, that you will meet Maasai in their untouched environment, not invaded by tourists. An armed ranger will accompany you which open the chance to descend to the crater floor (tough path!). Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Important: Unforeseeable events like heavy rain leave the track to Empakai impassable. In these cases you will enjoy a day of rest or (if you like) make an excursion to Olmoti Crater.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge / Ngorongoro Serena Lodge / Ngorongoro Wildlife

Days 5 – 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Nasera Rock
Passing Ngorongoro crater rim you descend through a really impressive landscape down to Oldupai Gorge. There you will find the most complete and eldest proofs of human development.
Stop for the information about the cradle of mankind! Continuing to the North to lonesome areas very rarely visited by tourists. We will build up our camp at Gol Mountains. With 2 Maasai guides you will start an hour walk through Olkareen Gorge.
Excursion to the Fig tree (if you like): Drive on dusty, nearly never used trails to the north – an excursion into a lost wilderness. You will find a fig tree in untouched Maasai land, north of Oldupai and close to the Gol Mountains. Even if you are not so interested in trees, this tree might tell you about the last 1000 years. We found this tree about 30 years ago and used to talk for hours with him. We are proud to show our lonely friend and you will not forget this “cathedral of a tree”!
Important: The track to the Fig tree is extremely dusty and impassable if it is raining. Maybe you will also meet the Great Migration there.
By rainfalls this excursion could become a real adventure. Overnight at a Special Campsite near Nasera Rock .FB
Days 7: Nasera Rock – Serengeti National Park
On this day of safari you will depart very early in the morning from Nasera Rock to Serengeti National Park. Entering Serengeti National Park from Naabi Hill Gate after all the park formalities. With the formalities done you will enter Serengeti National Park.

Days 8 – 11: Serengeti National Park
You will have plenty of time to explore the Serengeti, one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world with an incredible Wildlife. Your safari is adapted to your travel period: in this season normally pprox.. 2.5 million animals are on their “Great Migration” into southern Serengeti! According to the rainfalls in these months the herds move southwards. You will have the chance to participate in this worldwide unique spectacle! As our safaris have no limit of mileage and time, you will get to know the Serengeti in total – you will therefore also visit Ngong Hill and Moru Kopjes – known as “Islands in the Sea of Grass”.
